AMTRAK TRAINS PER WEEK

Numbers on the map indicate the number of trains per week traveling north and southbound over the respective segments of the Southeast Corridor.

The northern section of the Southeast Corridor extends from Washington DC to Raleigh NC 306 miles, and is the most densely utilized portion of the right-of-way. It provides Amtrak Regional service to Richmond VA and Newport News VA, as well as the Carolinian through Raleigh to Charlotte NC.

The eastern line segment 369 miles serves coastal North and South Carolina via Fayetteville NC and Charleston SC including Amtrak’s Silver Meteor to Miami FL, the Auto Train to Sanford Orlando-FL, and the Palmetto to Savannah GA. The western line segment 411 miles serves central North and South Carolina via Raleigh NC and Columbia SC with the Silver Star through Savannah GA to Tampa and Miami FL.

The southern section of the corridor 560 miles extends from Savannah GA to Tampa and Miami FL and provides service to Georgia and Florida destinations.



NOTE: The Sunset Limited service between New Orleans and Southeast Corridor points has been indefinitely discontinued due to Hurricane Katrina. The Sunset Limited’s six trains per week are still included in the map segment between Jacksonville and Orlando, as Amtrak had issued no notice of permanent discontinuance as this site went to press.
