AUTO TRAIN

An 855-mile passenger train route operated by Amtrak, the Auto Train runs from Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL and serves key tourist destinations. Increased use of the Auto Train can result in reduced highway congestion along Interstate 95. Passengers can use the additional mobility afforded by transporting vehicles—including small trailers or jet skis—with the use of autoracks, or specialized train equipment, as they travel the East Coast. Passenger travel includes coach or sleeping cars; the train includes lounge cars and dining cars.
